Shadra has a BA in Economics from Alfred University, is fluent in French, and is studying English Literature at Mercy College. She is a freelance writer, editor and translator and has had several articles published. She co-authors the column “A More Perfect Union” with her husband Dave, has written award-winning essays and poetry, and offers web optimization solutions and ghostwriting services through her business, SolutionsbyShadra.

Shadra is the stepparenting editor for BellaOnline.com and is considered a parenting and blended family expert.  Her “25 Rules for Being a Good Step Mom” has been adapted and appears in Norbert Georget’s book, No-Nonsense Parenting for Today’s Teen: How to Feel Like a Good Parent When Your Teen Hates You.

Shadra is a gypsy at heart, and loves to travel. While she currently makes her home in Bath, New York, she is equally comfortable in Idaho, California, Quebec, and Europe and would someday like to be the ambassador to Algeria.

David, a native of Corning, New York, is a writer, a poet, a scholar, a photographer, a traveler, and a dreamer.  David focuses his combined talents to develop a unique perspective of the world and then communicate that perspective to his audience. 

David graduated from Boise State University with high honors where he received a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature. He is co-author the column “A More Perfect Union,” which appeared in The Leader newspaper in Corning, New York and is now published online. His first published poem “Modern Day Pirates” appears in the 2007 anthology In Other Words. His first chapbook is pending publication. 

David has lived in Colorado, California, Idaho, Nevada, New York, and Germany. He currently resides in Bath, New York with his wife and four of his children, where he is pursuing a Master’s degree in English education.
